Strange things are happening at an English boarding school called House of Anubis. Popular student Joy goes missing, the school's cranky caretaker has a creepy stuffed crow and the school's attic may be haunted. When recent American transplant Nina gets thrust into the school during this time, she decides to investigate along with her new friend, Fabian, and housemates.
After looking up the hieroglyphic symbols from the back of the old painting, Fabian and Nina manage to crack the code leading them to the staircase. (S1, ep 9)
Victor rigs a feather in the attic door and when Nina and Fabian sneak up and find some strange wax cylinders, Victor knows that someone has been up there. (S1, ep 10)
Fabian and Nina take the wax cylinders to Fabian's uncle who runs an antique shop and find out they are phonograph cylinders. (S1, ep 11)
Mara cheats on Mick's French test for him which Jerome sees and uses it to blackmail her into doing chores for him and Alfie. (S1, ep 12)
Patricia sees someone hanging around on the school grounds and is freaked out, thinking it's a ghost. She confides in her drama teacher, who says he'll help. (S1, ep 13)
Mick finds out Mara cheated for him and falls out with her. Amber discovers a secret message written behind the wallpaper. (S1, ep 14)
Amber and Nina go to the old people's home to visit Sarah and confirm that she is the girl from the recordings. Amber comes up with a name for their gang. (S1, ep 15)
Patricia meets her "ghost" again in the woods, but this time they talk and he tells her he's actually a private investigator and he'll help her find Joy. (S1, ep 16)
Patricia meets with Rufus in the woods to discuss his plans for finding Joy - she must look out for the Eye Of Horus. (S1, ep 17)
Patricia spots Nina's necklace and recognizes it as the Eye of Horus. The gang opens the next puzzle piece to reveal the second riddle. (S1, ep 18)
The teachers confiscate Patricia's phone and find out she's been in contact with Rufus Zeno - a man known to them as "The Betrayer". (S1, ep 19)
The gang finds a black cat which has escaped from the cellar. Amber takes the day off school to look after it but it disappears when she's asleep. (S1, ep 20)
The gang lets Patricia in on the secret, and debates the possibility that Victor might be drinking an elixir of life. (S1, ep 21)
Alfie and Jerome admit that they were the "zombies" down in the cellar. Later they get into trouble with Jason for conning the younger years. (S1, ep 25)
Mara changes her appearance (and personality) to try and impress Mick and be less "boring". Alfie gets trapped in the cellar. (S1, ep 26)
Jerome enlists Fabian's help to rescue a shaken and traumatized Alfie from the cellar. (S1, ep 27)
Nina is trying to distance herself from the gang but still can't help solving the latest riddle. (S1, ep 28)
