Joanna Lumley's Silk Road Adventure

Four-part series following Joanna Lumley on a journey of exploration along the historic Silk Road route, travelling from Venice to the border of China through vibrant cities and dramatic landscapes. The ancient Silk Road enabled trade between East and West, with goods, technology and culture transferred throughout China, the Arab world and into Europe from centuries before the Common Era. Along its 7000-mile route Joanna discovers the many different cultures and histories of the places she passes through, meeting Venetian silk merchants, sampling famous cheese made in a Turkish village and experiencing traditional ways of life among Armenian herding families.
