Seven lawbreakers from very different backgrounds embark on their community payback sentences, which involve renovating a derelict building in Bristol. The group includes black civil rights activist Myrna, middle-class businessman John, indebted Christian, lawyer Greg, celebrity Lady Gabriella Penrose-Howe, student Rani, and petty crook Frank. As they struggle through their sentences and get to know each other, the group make a discovery which brings them closer together and challenges their attempt to reform.

The group engages in bonding exercises led by Gabby, then hijacked by Diane. But harmony is punctured when they discover a bag of cash stashed in the community centre's ceiling.

The outlaws wrestle with the consequences of keeping the stolen money for themselves. Gabby and Greg work on plans for her festival, but Spencer threatens to lead her astray.

Episode 4Episode 4

Frank looks back on his glory days in the 1980s and reflects on his choices. Can the outlaws launder their dirty money before the gangsters track them down?

Episode 5Episode 5

Gabby and Greg go cap-in-hand to a possible financier for the festival. With one of their own in trouble, the outlaws come together to launch a daring rescue. Richard E Grant guest stars.

Episode 6Episode 6

Frank edges close to reconciliation with Margaret and John risks permanent estrangement from his father. As the net tightens around them, the group realise they have a traitor in the ranks.
