Early Cuyler is a redneck squid who, while serving a 15-year jail sentence, finds out he has an illegitimate son named Rusty. The boy is being raised by his Aunt Lil, who is teaching him how to run a hair salon, which she does when she isn't running a crystal meth lab. When the sheriff takes pity on Early and releases him to raise Rusty, he must find a way to become a good dad and maintain the terms of his parole.
