Michael Palin: Travels of a Lifetime

A look back at how Michael first became an accidental traveller after accepting an offer to go around the world in 80 days, following the route in the classic Jules Verne story.

Michael Palin looks back on the making of Pole to Pole, in which he travelled along a single line of longitude across the USSR, Africa and finally into Antarctica.

Michael recalls the making of Full Circle, a journey around the Pacific Rim which took him to Russia, China, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand and North and South America.

Michael reflects on his fourth travel series, exploring the Sahara, which took him over the Atlas Mountains and into the deep desert as part of a camel train.
