"I drink too much, I smoke too much, I gamble too much. I am too much." So says criminal psychologist Eddie `Fitz' Fitzgerald, but in his self-analysis he left out "brilliant" and "cagey," two qualities he uses to aid the police in Manchester, England, profile and catch killers. His cerebral approach is supported by DS Jane Penhaligon, who also happens to be Fitz's love interest, and clashes with the old-style aggressive policing of DS Jimmy Beck.
