A three-part television series produced by Element Pictures, Big Arty Productions, and A24 following a fictionalised version of David Hartley and the Cragg Vale Coiners at the onset of the industrial revolution in 18th-Century moorland hills of Yorkshire, England. As the first cotton mills and factories are erected, and with commoners starving, David Hartley has a vision that inspires him to assemble a gang of weavers and land-workers. Together, they embark upon a criminal enterprise with the aim of bringing comfort and dignity back to their community.
