Equator from the Air

2019

Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan explores the damage humans are doing to the planet by flying over the rainforests of Gabon and looking at how the vegetation has been scarred by gold mines. In a 25,000-mile journey around the equator, Buchanan discovers the rapport between humans and nature. This unique experience gives the opportunity to clearly understand how much of the rainforest is being lost because of farming, palm-oil plantations and gold mines. He also meets with scientists researching new ways to defend the equator and protect animals and humans who live there.
