Five pairs of travellers participate in an epic race that will take them through many countries. However, there is a catch, the pairs cannot take planes, must leave behind their smartphones and credit cards, and will not have access to the internet. Provided only with the cash equivalent of their airfare from their starting destination to the finishing line, they must find innovative ways to manage their budget and conduct their journey. If they run out of money, they must earn some more to continue the journey. The duos must also pass through a number checkpoints along the way.

Episode 1. Five teams set off from Vancouver on a race across Canada.

Episode 2Race Across the World

Episode 2. The teams head into the heart of the Yukon towards former gold rush boom town Dawson City.

Episode 3Race Across the World

Episode 3. The teams head for the third checkpoint, the Rocky Mountain resort town of Banff.

Episode 4Race Across the World

Episode 4. The teams head for Hudson Bay, which can only be reached by a twice-weekly train.

Episode 5Race Across the World

Episode 5. The teams head for the next checkpoint, a 3,000km journey from Churchill to Lake Huron.

Episode 6Race Across the World

Episode 6. The pairs must brush up on their language skills, as the next stop is in Quebec.

Episode 7Race Across the World

Episode 7. The remaining pairs are just two checkpoints away from the £20,000 cash prize.

As the pairs complete their gruelling journey across Canada, which will triumph?

The five pairs meet up again to reflect on the adventure of a lifetime.
