Detective Superintendent Andrew Dalziel and his polar-opposite partner, Detective Inspector Peter Pascoe, manage to use their opposing styles of police work to capture the criminals and bring about justice. Dalziel is old-school, preferring tried-and true methods, and tends to be insensitive. Pascoe, on the other hand, is educated and open to new ideas.
