`Alaskan Bush People' is a reality-documentary series that introduces the Brown family - Billy, wife Ami and their seven grown children who - according to Discovery - are interesting because "they are unlike any other family in America." The channel says they are so far removed from civilization that they often go six to nine months each year without seeing an outsider. They refer to themselves as a "wolf pack" and, perhaps due to isolation, have their own accent and dialect. The Browns live in the Copper River Valley, where temperatures can drop to 60 degrees below zero, and the family recently relocated and built a cabin there because, they say, their former home of many years was seized and burned down for being in the wrong location on public land.

Episode 5Birdy Get Your Gun

The family seeks food in the woods but soon realise there's stiff competition - bears. With supplies running low, Birdy goes hunting on the bears' turf. S2, Ep4

Episode 6Pile It On

The Browns start building their home on their remote land in Alaska. They have to float the foundation pilings to their land and suffer a setback when a big storm hits. S2, Ep5

Episode 7On the Prowl

The boys meet some local girls and invite them back to their property for a unique style of bush dating. Plus, Billy strikes a barter for windows for their new home. S2, Ep6

Episode 8Home Alone

Billy falls seriously ill and is forced to seek medical help. Meanwhile, the kids are left to fend for themselves and build a large raft to help move lumber. S2, Ep7

Episode 9Now or Never

As the Browns struggle to get their house built, winter arrives. While working through the snow, a series of setbacks threatens to derail all the hard work. S2, Ep8
