Set in 1926, Newt Scamander, an acclaimed magizoologist, arrives in New York to continue his work researching and rescuing magical creatures.
But when he accidentally switches his magical suitcases with ‘No-Maj’ (non-magical) Jacob, some of the animals he keeps break free into the human world.
On a mission to round them up before they cause too much trouble and expose the Wizarding World, he finds himself facing the wrath of Wizarding Authority the MACUSA, who accuse him of being in league with dark wizard Gellert Grindlewald.
Meanwhile, No-Maj Mary Lou Barebone preaches to the human world on the streets of the city about witches and wizards being real, posing a threat to life as they know it.
What she doesn’t realise is that her adopted son, Credence, contains powers that threaten to destroy the entire world, and her cruel behaviour towards him isn't helping.
