There is a technical fault with this channel

Try another TV channel. If only one channel is affected, the problem is likely to be with the particular broadcaster. Wait for a few minutes and then try the channel again.

If this hasn't fixed the fault, restart the box you're seeing the error message on.

Restart your box

  1. Switch your Sky Q box off at the mains.

  2. Check that both ends of all cables are securely connected.

  3. Switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.

  4. Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear then press Home on your Sky Q remote.

Factory reset

Only attempt a factory reset if you're seeing the error message on all channels.

Please note: A full system reset should only be attempted as a last resort as it will result in the loss of all recordings and reminders on your Sky box.

  1. Press Home on your Sky Q remote.

  2. Press 0, 0, 1 then select to access the Installer Setup menu (this menu is not listed on the Settings menu options).

  3. Select Reset and then highlight Factory reset. You’ll see a warning message advising all existing and planned recording will be deleted.

  4. Press Select to continue.

  5. Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear then press Home on your Sky Q remote.

If you’re using a communal dish:

  1. Press Home on your Sky Q remote.

  2. Press 0, 0, 1 then select to access the Installer Setup menu (this menu is not listed on the Settings menu options).

  3. Select Setup, then highlight LNB type and check SCR is selected.
