Need a data top up?

Data allowance lower than expected

Sometimes you might only get part of your monthly data allowance. This can happen for a few reasons, including if you activate a new SIM part way through your billing period.

Find out what's using your data

To get detailed data usage info, go to the Settings menu on your phone or tablet. For step-by-step instructions, go to device support and search for ‘Check mobile data usage (internet)’.

Data charges

  • Your data plan is charged for a month in advance and covers data usage in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland.
  • Travelling outside of the UK? Data roaming charges apply (excludes Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man), unless you activate Roaming Passport Plus (in one of the Roaming Passport Plus destinations), then the pass charge will apply. To keep an eye on your data usage while you’re away, check your Sky Mobile bill.

To see a detailed breakdown, select the arrows beside each option in your bill.

Expected charges not showing?

It can take up to 30 hours (sometimes longer) for some usage charges to show on your bill, especially if you use Sky Mobile abroad. These charges might show on next month’s bill instead.

Calls and texts charges higher than expected

Unlimited Calls and Texts to UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man landlines (01, 02, 03) and UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man mobiles (07) comes included with each data plan. Excludes indirect access and 070/076 numbers.

Extra charges for calls and texts that are not included in your plan can be for things like:

  • Calls to premium rate numbers (e.g. 084, 087, 09 numbers and 118)
  • Calls and texts to international numbers
  • Competition text entries or voting on TV shows (short codes)
  • Using your phone outside of the UK (roaming)
  • Picture messages
