Set up a different monthly spend cap for each SIM on your account
The spend cap amount can be from £0 - £100 per SIM, rounded to the nearest £1.
This is the maximum you can spend each month on out of plan charges (data, calls and texts that aren’t included in your plan). For example, calls to premium rate numbers, picture messages or roaming outside of Europe (EU/EEA).
Any chargeable inbound calls or texts (SMS) won't be received if the cost of the call/text was to exceed the spend cap amount.
Don’t worry, it won’t affect your monthly plan and you’ll still be able to use any data, calls and texts from your monthly allowance like normal.
Manage your spend cap(s)
The account holder can set up, change or remove spend cap(s) for each SIM anytime in Settings in My Account online.
Once a spend cap has been set up it will apply to each billing period (month) and will reset on the bill date, until the account holder changes or removes it.
Spend cap alerts
- We’ll text the SIM user when they’ve reached 50% (optional), 80% and 100% of their monthly spend cap. We’ll also text the account holder when they’ve reached 80% and 100%. If the text can’t be delivered, we’ll send an email. To change your 50% spend cap notification option, go to Settings in My Account and edit your spend cap.
If you reach your spend cap
- When you reach your spend cap, you won’t be able to use any chargeable data, calls and texts that aren’t included in your plan until your next bill date (unless you change your spend cap). You’ll still be able to use free services and what’s included in your monthly plan.
- For example, if you have a 10GB data plan plus unlimited calls and texts, and a spend cap of £50 per SIM, when you reach the £50 spend cap you’ll no longer be able to use data, calls and texts outside of your plan. E.g. calls and texts to premium rate numbers, picture messages or roaming outside the EU. But you’ll still be able to make calls and texts to UK landlines (01,02,03) and UK mobiles (07). And continue to use your monthly 10GB data allowance in the UK or EU/EEA (if you haven’t used it up for this month), or roll back unused data from your Sky Piggybank.
