Calls and texts to international numbers

To call or text abroad when you're in the UK, out of plan 'International charges' apply.

Check how much it costs in the 'International charges' section of the Sky Mobile tariff guide.

  • Picture messages (MMS) can only be sent to UK mobile numbers.
  • A single text (SMS) is up to 160 characters long. Texts longer than this will be charged as 2 or more texts.

Got friends and family abroad?

Get discounted calls and texts from the UK and Roaming Passport Plus destinations to over 60 international landline and mobile destinations by adding our International Saver to your plan.

For the list of destinations and discounted charges, see the 'International Saver' section in the Sky Mobile tariff guide.

Good to know: From 3 May 2022, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man will be included as part of your UK allowance.

Add or remove the International Saver

Go to My Account and sign in with your Sky iD. Then select the mobile number or SIM name you want to make changes to and scroll down to the 'International Saver'.

Manage your plan

You can also change this in the My Sky app, just select the mobile number or SIM name you want to make changes to.

Once you've added it, the monthly charge will stay as part of your plan until you remove it. You can choose to change it whenever you like.

Can't make international calls?

If you can't make calls or send texts from the UK to international numbers, check you haven't reached your spend cap for this month. You'll have set your spend cap for any out of plan charges when you bought/activated your SIM.

To check your spend cap, go to sky.com/spendcap and sign in with your Sky iD.
