Everything you need to know about Emmy-Award winning Euphoria

Euphoria, based on an Israeli TV series of the same name, follows troubled high school students living life in East Highland, California – including sex, drugs, social media and trauma.
Walking us through the story is Rue Bennett (Zendaya) a 17-year-old battling drug addiction and going in and out of rehab. After her latest stint, she meets newcomer Jules, a trans girl who has just moved into the area, and the pair begin a relationship.
But complicated friendships and anxieties bring difficult feelings to the surface. Keeping sober would be difficult enough as it is – but Rue has no intention of even trying.
Surrounding her are the complicated relationships of her long-time friends and acquaintances who treat high school halls like a catwalk before drinking and partying across the evening and weekends.
Among them is Nate, the attractive, popular quarterback with a violent streak; Cassie, a pretty and popular people-pleaser seething with resentment; Kat, a self-conscious teen who is determined to change her reputation; Lexi, Cassie’s younger sister and childhood bestie of Rue; Maddy, confident, feisty and Nate’s on-off girlfriend who seemingly has it all; and McKay, the high school’s football star.
Created and written by Sam Levinson, the series also has heavy weights from the music industry onboard with Drake serving as an executive producer and Labrinth composing the music and soundtrack for both series.
First launching in 2019, Euphoria quickly became a worldwide sensation, with an unfiltered and brutal look at a struggling generation at a time when outside perceptions overshadow real needs for connection and survival.

How many episodes of Euphoria are there?
To date, Euphoria has run for a total of 18 episodes.
Both season one and two have eight episodes each, alongside two specials filmed during the pandemic released in 2020, bridging the gap between the two seasons.
Season three has been confirmed to run for eight episodes as well, but the release date is not yet known.
Is Euphoria ending with season 3?
Officially, it has not been confirmed that season three is Euphoria’s last. However, it has been widely speculated – including by executives at HBO – that it could well be.
Speaking to Deadline in February 2025, Francesca Orsi, Head of Drama at HBO, said: “We’ve talked about it, I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but it’s been discussed that this is the end.”
“I think you will be very satisfied with this season, and how we bring each of the characters’ whole narrative,” she added.
The season will run for eight episodes and will pick up four years after the events of the season two finale.
Filming commenced in February 2025, with a release date not yet known.
How to watch Euphoria
Euphoria is available in full now exclusively to Sky and NOW.
It is not available anywhere else in the UK.
Will I still be able to watch Euphoria on Sky with HBO Max launching?
Yes!
If you’re already a Sky subscriber, you will get complete continuity of the service at no extra cost via the Max app. The new deal means Sky and NOW customers benefit from more content through bundled access to the streaming service that will exclusively feature new HBO Original and Max Original shows and more.
And in the case of Euphoria and a range of other series, as part of Sky’s new deal with HBO, customers will continue to find shows such as House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, and The Last of Us, and any new series aired before the end of 2025, on Sky Atlantic and through Sky’s On Demand service.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and chief content officer of Sky, said: “What’s really good about the deal that we struck is that if you’re a Sky subscriber, at no additional cost, you will have access to the Max app within your Sky platform. So if you’re already a Sky subscriber, you have complete continuity of service. Actually, you probably have more because Max will have more content than what we have today with the HBO shows and the Warner Bros. films.
“It’s going to be completely seamless for those customers, so you’ll have a really rich experience, and that’s at no additional cost.
“Any show that we’ve had historically on our channels you’ll continue to get on the channels, including future seasons of The Last of Us and The White Lotus.”
And what about NOW TV?
In addition, NOW UK and Ireland Entertainment members will also receive bundled access to the ad-supported version of Max, seamlessly integrated into the NOW experience alongside other premium content. They will also continue to get the existing series which were available on Sky as part of their subscription.
