Tate Britain's Great British Walks

2017

In partnership with the world-renowned Tate Britain art institution, this epic travelogue aims to understand and connect with some of the iconic landscape artists of Britain. Every episode, art historian Gus Casely-Hayford accompanies a guest celebrity of the arts, and together they seek to explore a specific work of art that has inspired them by visiting the actual location that initially inspired the artist. Each episode highlights a specific part of British landscape, life and countryside, such as Constable's `Flatford Mill' in Essex and William Powell-Frith's `Derby Day' in Epsom Downs, amongst others, allowing for a discussion both on what it is the artist was inspired by, and manages to convey in their art.
