What happens in And Just Like That: Season 3, Episode 3 – ‘Carrie Golightly’?

Warning: Major spoilers ahead

Carrie

Carrie has a call with her publicist, Amanda, who offers her a string of public appearances to promote her book. Noticing one in Virginia, Carrie sees it as a chance to spend some time with Aidan and agrees.

She later spends lunch with the girls at Anthony’s Hot Fellas. Business is slow, despite the handsome men he has on his books.

Her chat is disrupted by a phone call from Cathy – Aidan’s ex-wife who asks her to bring Adderall to Virginia for Wyatt. Carrie hesitantly agrees and is reassured by Lisa and Charlotte that there’s a nationwide shortage. Thankfully, Charlotte comes through thanks to some school connections.

Getting ready to leave, Carrie reveals to Miranda her plans to give Aidan a key to the house.

Once in Virginia, Carrie’s appearance goes off without a hitch, but she later shares with Seema that she is worried about her future with Aidan.

Calling Aidan, the pair share their excitement at seeing each other for lunch, but Carrie is irked that he hasn’t invited her to stay.

However, when Carrie and Seema ruin their rental car, Aidan comes to the rescue, inviting her to stay in the process. Dropping Seema off at the airport, the pair arrive at Aidan’s home – but he warns her she’ll have to stay in the guest house for the first evening, as he hasn’t told his children she’ll be coming.

She then gives him the Adderall Cathy requested, which seems to catch him off guard, but he brushes past it.

That night, she sits in her room and continues work on her new book.

Miranda

With Carrie away in Virginia, Miranda offers to catsit Shoe for her, looking after the house while she’s gone.

She later reveals that she’s asked out Joy, but under the guise of media training tips to be better on screen.

At the dinner, Miranda is encouraged by Joy to be on the air for the BBC again and is given helpful tips to help her through her time on camera.

Charlotte

At work, Charlotte is left feeling inadequate when her co-workers reveal they managed to secure sales during a night out – urging her to join them more often.

Charlotte later rants at the house about having to take on mother duties all the time after work. Lily informs them both that they don’t party, and Anthony’s partner Guiseppe encourages her to go on a night out with Harry.

Harry recruits Carrie to go out and buy some ‘cool’ clothes for the evening out, settling on some uber-tight jeans.

On the night out, Charlotte and Harry struggle to keep up with the younger group. Harry wants to go home, but Charlotte encourages him to stay until the after party is over so she can close a deal with a Dutch art dealer. Harry agrees but wets himself in the bathroom due to difficulties with his jeans. While he makes light of it, he heads home while encouraging Charlotte to stay out.

Now on her own, Charlotte is told by colleague Layla that she has feelings for the Dutch art dealer - who takes them to an after-after party. At 3am, Charlotte is struggling but pushes through thanks to espresso martinis. Cornering Dutch in the bathroom as he takes cocaine, she encourages him to hit on Layla, but he gets confused and tries to kiss her instead. Giving up, she leaves, discovering it’s light out.

The next morning, Charlotte chats to a fellow mother, who offers to buy a painting from her.

Lisa

At the office, Lisa is left upset when her editor Grace is asked to work on Steve McQueen’s next documentary – and will need to leave the project immediately. Lisa is annoyed that she would need to leave the project before it’s done, but after eight years she says it’s too much of an opportunity to miss.

Feeling the project slipping away from her, Lisa takes it out on her home cooking. Herbert tries to talk her down, adding that he understands the kind of opportunity it is.

Lisa later apologises to Grace, telling her she’s happy for her, but is scared to finish the project without her. Grace tells her to rely on her vision and drive and she’ll be OK.

Seema

At work, Seema is pulled into a meeting with Elliott, who informs her he is retiring. She notes that they had plans to buy him out in a few years' time, but he noted that, at 90, he wanted to continue.

He then reveals that he is selling his shares to Ryan Serhant, making him the primary partner, but she is annoyed he did so without informing her and walks out.

While she enjoys some downtime, she decides to join Carrie in Virginia. Picking her up, she meets gardener Adam for the first time, and comments on how hot he is.

Once in Virginia, Seema declares her plans to launch her own business away from Elliott. She later buys some KFC and joins Carrie in her room, as she debates the pros and cons. She admits that she is annoyed that her name won’t be on the company anymore and will be working under someone else.

The next day, she receives a call from Ryan, who tells her it’s not possible to add her name to the banner.

To add insult to injury, the car she’s driving to Aidan’s has to be towed because she rides over exit spikes. Seeing it as a sign, she decides to not go back, but move forward with her own business.
