Carrie

Carrie heads out for breakfast with Jackie and presents him with a signed physical copy of her book. However, their sweet moment is ruined when Jackie rushes to the bathroom – after his stomach decides to punish him for breaking the ‘no hollandaise before noon’ rule.

As she waits for his return, Carrie gets a message from a mystery older man, then spots her former Vogue Editor Enid Frick, taking the opportunity to ask her if she would be so kind as to mention her new book in her Ask Enid blog. With a readership rivalling Goop, who can blame Carrie for trying!

Enid turns her down but offers Carrie the opportunity to be involved with her new online magazine, Vivante – French for “Alive!” – targeted at women ‘our age’, which Carrie takes a slight offence to as she’s younger than Enid. Thankfully the conversation ends when Enid dips out to spend time with her new beau.

Carrie continues to get messages from her mystery man, who introduces himself as Marlon. He says he got her number from a “birdy” though she’s not sure who.

At the launch event for Vivante, Carrie decides to take Enid up on her offer to write for the publication – only to find out that what Enid REALLY wanted was for Carrie to come onboard as a founding donor…and write a cheque for $10,000 dollars.

After accidentally swiping across to an X-rated photo on Carrie’s phone, Enid is shocked to discover that Carrie has been exchanging texts with her boyfriend – Marlon.

An embarrassed Carrie accidentally offends Enid by suggesting that Marlon is too old for Carrie to date and in an effort to smooth over the situation, agrees to transfer Enid the money she was asking for.

Charlotte and Lisa

Charlotte and Lisa say goodbye to their kids on an overnight school trip – leaving them child-free with their husbands for the evening. Not sure what to do with all their free time, the couples quickly come up with their own plans but note Lisa and Herbert’s 20th anniversary party is coming up and they’ll see them there.

Charlotte and Harry immediately head to the bedroom, but Charlotte finds herself shocked when Harry doesn’t climax.

Over lunch with the girls (and Anthony), Charlotte reveals that Harry is having some issues in the bedroom which leads to a conversation filled with mayo analogies. A quick trip to the doctor reveals that the issue is a weak pelvic floor, so Charlotte takes it upon herself to become Harry’s personal trainer and teach him how to do a Kegel.

At Lisa’s birthday dinner, Charlotte meets art gallery owner Marcus Kasabian, who remembers her from years ago when she worked in the industry. After catching up over dinner, Marcus encourages Charlotte to follow her passion for art by coming to work for him at his gallery. Content with her life as a full-time mum, she politely turns him down.

Miranda

Now officially back in New York at the family home, Miranda is looking after a mopey and heartbroken Brody, while ex-husband Steve is waking her up with his stringent gym routine, having used the break-up as motivation to get ripped.

A family therapy session with Miranda, Steve and Brady brings up some home truths – with Brady delivering the blow that his parents should get divorced so they can all move on. At the suggestion of the therapist, Steve offers to move out and Brady drops the bombshell that he isn’t planning on going to college.

Angry with Brady’s decision, Miranda heads over to Che’s new NYC apartment with Carrie in tow. There Carrie meets Lyle, who Miranda is surprised to see having assumed he was going to head back to LA after dropping Che off at the new pad. The four of them enjoy housewarming drinks, where Che and Lyle share details of how they got married. Vegas, apparently.

Lyle later falls asleep in Che’s bed after one too many drinks. With no other option thanks to a broken couch, Miranda and Che climb into bed next to him to go to sleep. But as things get heated between Miranda and Che, Lyle wakes up and decides to join in. Wanting to be more adventurous, Miranda agrees to a threesome but after an untimely muscle cramp, she decides that it isn’t for her and encourages Che and Lyle to carry on without her.
