Warning: Major spoilers ahead
Carrie
Carrie finds herself at odds with podcast producer Chloe when she’s asked to promote vaginal wellness products. Chloe accuses Carrie of being a “diva” and tells her to rewrite it in her voice if she cares so much.
Later that night while in bed, Franklyn tries to help Carrie put the ad into her own voice but fails miserably. Chloe later emails Franklyn and suggests this could be a dealbreaker for the Sex and the City podcast. Carrie eventually sits at her beloved desk to write.
When she and Franklyn finally head to the studio to record, they find it being packed up, with the business being sold and all the podcasts being cancelled effective immediately. Leaving deflated, Franklyn notes that they need to call time on their romance too, as he’s beginning to get feelings for her as more than a “Thursday thing” but knows she’s not ready.
The pair part amicably, wishing each other well as they move on to their next things separately.
Seema
Seema goes to the salon but storms out when her stylist Juan José declares she’s “too picky” and sees red flags in everything, and that’s why she’s alone.
She shares what happened with Carrie, asking if the stylist was right, and Carrie says she relates, not wanting to jump into something unless she’s certain. Seema also confesses that she feared Zed was mooching off his ex-wife, which is why they still live together.
When another salon completely obliterates her hair, Seema returns to her salon to apologise for taking the comment too personally with a bottle of tequila. With that, she gets back in his seat.
Taking his comments to heart, she decides to give Zed another chance and they go to dinner. Once there, Zed proposes she invest in a new nightclub with him for $100,000 each. Knowing her instincts were right, and he was a mooch, she leaves him.
Miranda and Che
Over in Los Angeles, Miranda and Che are struggling to get in any kind of sexy time in thanks to Che’s commitment to the sitcom pilot.
While Che’s at work, Miranda heads to an AA meeting where she meets Ali, who invites Miranda to join her at an environmental group clean-up at the beach. Delighted, Miranda accepts.
That night, Che performs at a comedy night, introducing Tony Danza, who will be playing their father in the TV pilot. Miranda sneaks in and watches from the back.
The next day, Miranda heads to the beach for the clear-up but is left there alone when Ali leaves early to pick up her child from an incident at school. While she initially says she’ll get an Uber, she runs into trouble when she loses her phone.
Borrowing the phone of a surfer, she calls Carrie to get Che’s number so they can come and get her, but they can’t due to a dinner date with Tony Danza. Coming up with an idea, Che says they’ll get her help.
A man in a purple pick-up pulls up and introduces himself as Lyle. While he’s friendly, he knocks Miranda for six when he was Che’s husband, and technically still is.
At the dinner, Tony Danza tells Che that he doesn’t want to play their father as Mexican because he’s been getting backlash online. Che says their dad is Mexican, but Tony wants to change the script so their heritage is different and he can be Italian.
When the pair get home, Miranda admits she doesn’t feel like she knows Che. Che says the reason they haven’t divorced Lyle is purely because they were too lazy to and tells her not to be so upset.
Lisa and Herbert
Lisa and Herbert are on action stations as they prepare for the arrival of Herbert's demanding mother – changing everything from what they eat to how their daughter Gabrielle’s hair is styled.
On their way to an event, Herbert and Gabrielle are left frustrated when cabs refuse to stop for him. Banging on one of the cabs that flat out ignore him, his mother sees the situation and is embarrassed by him.
That evening, Herbert’s mother visits him in his room to ask what happened that day, saying she’s disappointed he resorted to violence. Lisa hesitantly agrees, saying that if he pounded on the wrong person’s car, he could be in real trouble.
Charlotte
Lily asks Charlotte and Harry for an electric keyboard as her music is “going in a different direction”. The parents refuse, saying she needs to find a way to pay for it on her own as they’ve already bought her a grand piano.
However, within a day, Lily is in her room recording with a brand-new keyboard and microphone, leaving Charlotte questioning how she got it. Lily casually tells her that she’s sold some of the designer outfits she’d had in her wardrobe to website The Real Deal, leaving Charlotte furious.
Charlotte vents her rage to Lisa and Anthony, saying she wants to sue the site, but Anthony tells her it’s normal to return things for something you want more, admitting he had done the same with a ring Charlotte had got her.
Despite this, Charlotte sends a frustrated message to the Real Deal to try and get one of the expensive dresses back.
When Lily performs the song she bought the keyboard for, Charlotte is left upset as she realises the lyrics are about her daughter struggling to have an identity and feeling like she needs to be “the good girl”.
Regardless, Charlotte perseveres, and heads to the store to get the dress back, but instead gets an incredibly unhelpful clerk who knows nothing about it. She admits to Carrie that she fears Lily is rejecting the things she’s given her, prompting Carrie to say she’s simply outgrown it and wants to try something new.
Nya
Nya and Andre’s relationship continues to break down, with him admitting that he wants them to work out but he’s also tempted by other people. He asks if she will consider getting a surrogate so they can have a baby, and she rages, knowing he hasn’t listened to her when she talks about her feelings on the matter.
Nya strips her apartment from anything reminding her of Andre, considering it a sign that they’re over.
