What happens in And Just Like That...: Season 2, Episode 3 – ‘Chapter Three’?

Warning: Major spoilers ahead

Carrie

While passing through Bryant Park, Carrie runs into her neighbour Lisette, who is setting up for her jewellery showcase. Carrie confirms she’ll be joining her on Friday for the launch.

Heading to a recording studio for the audiobook of her upcoming memoir, Carrie falters when it comes to chapter three, having to read – and relive - the chapter which talks about the moment she returned home to find Big dying on the floor.

Heading to lunch with Charlotte, Lisa and Nya gives her some respite, but back in the studio she is thrown straight back to that moment with Big and breaks down in tears as she reads the chapter out, ultimately skipping the chapter for the time being.

On the way home, she runs old friend Bitsy while she’s having a moustache wax. Carrie admits she fell apart during the reading. Bitsy comforts her, telling her that things are going to be tough for the second year, but she needs to find something that gives her some joy. Naturally, that means heading to Bergdorf’s to get some new shoes.

But while she feels better, the chapter still can’t come to her, and she decides to fake getting Covid so she doesn’t have to go back to the studio. Naturally, when she tells Miranda, Charlotte finds out quickly, and she jumps into help mode.

Seema comes to visit, and while Carrie keeps up her pretence, she quickly admits she was faking it, allowing Carrie to open up. Seema tells her that her grief can take as long as it wants.

The next day, after a disaster at Lisette’s jewellery show, she goes to comfort her friend, and they spend the day lying in bed together. Knowing grief manifests in different ways, Carrie finds the strength to finally complete the recording.

She then heads out with Seema, and after meeting up with a group of Australians in a bar, actually gets Covid.

Charlotte and Lisa

Charlotte and Lisa attend a PTA meeting, where they discover that some of the boys in school have created a ‘MILF List’ of the parents.

At work, Lisa interviews Nya for her new documentary, and Nya flirts with sound guy Brian, who asks her out to dinner. While she initially says no, Lisa encourages her to give him her number.

When she joins the girls from lunch, Lisa and Charlotte get excited when they get hold of the infamous MILF List and find themselves at #2 and #3 respectively. Flattered at the attention, the pair later defend the boy when they find out that the issue will remain on his record throughout the application process – but find themselves in trouble when they’re overheard commenting about a male student being attractive in the hallway.

Miranda and Che

Elsewhere, Miranda is still in LA playing the role of supportive partner by rehearsing lines with Che, who is becoming increasingly frustrated with the changes that are being made to their story.

Miranda admits her annoyance that she hasn’t heard from her son Brady in days, but Che tells her not to worry about it, saying it probably means he’s enjoying Europe with his girlfriend and is wrapped up in it.

Again, trying to find something to do, Miranda finds herself going into a tattoo shop. As she considers getting some ink done, it’s clear she mainly just enjoys talking to the artist. She calls Carrie, who manages to talk her out of it. Carrie says it’s time for her to come back to New York, but she says no.

As Miranda lines up for Che’s pilot recording, she finally gets through to Brady, who is heartbroken in Amsterdam after his girlfriend broke up with him. While she’s meant to put her phone in a lock package, she decides to sneak it in instead so she can make sure Brady gets back to his hostel safely.

Unfortunately, her phone goes off right at Che’s big moment, disrupting the entire taping. Che is mortified, and Miranda sheepishly ducks out, while Tony Danza tries to keep the crowd in good spirits, praising Che.

Miranda finds Che after the taping to apologise, but they’re too mad to hear her explanation. The pair argue as Miranda shares she’s heading back to New York to be there for Brady, who is now on his way home. Che says that’s a drastic move, and kids have break-ups, but Miranda tells her that Brady is the most important thing to her and is always a priority.

Beating Brady back to the city, Miranda reveals she got a tattoo – her own initials on her wrist. She then holds her son as he breaks down in tears.

Seema

Seema is heading out for the day when someone snatches her beloved Birkin bag – the first thing she bought at the start of her career.

When she considers replacing it, she finds out it costs $36,000 to replace.

After visiting Carrie and wanting to cheer her up, Seema joins her friend at Lisette’s jewellery showing, but land themselves in the middle of a heist instead. Seema, already having one thing stolen from her, pulls a gun on the thief, who runs off. It turns out it was just a lighter, but it did enough to scare him.

The next day, while petting a dog, she finds her beloved Birkin thrown behind some bushes near her home.
