Robson Green (Mount Pleasant, Soldier Soldier) will play Lt Colonel Philip Locke who will now run Section 20, Martin Clunes (Doc Martin, Men Behaving Badly) plays Sebastian Gray, a former MI6 agent turned independent intelligence officer working in Baghdad, and Dougray Scott (Mission Impossible II, Desperate Housewives) will star as James Leatherby, a self-styled war junkie.
The three new cast members join Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapleton, who reprise their on-screen partnership as counterterrorism operatives Sgt Michael Stonebridge and Sgt Damien Scott.
"It is great to be working alongside Section 20 and being part of an Elite Team for Sky," said Green. "Strike Back is a quality drama with incredibly high production values."
Also returning to the series is Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Licans) as Major Rachel Dalton, Michelle Lukes (Alexander) as Sgt Julia Richmond and Liam Garrigan (Pillars of the Earth) as Sgt Liam Baxter.
In the upcoming series, Section 20 will pursue a deadly terrorist network from Colombia to Beirut to Europe where they uncover plots reaching to the West.
Huw Kennair-Jones, commissioning editor for Sky said: "There really is nothing else like Strike Back on British TV, its is a fantastic series full of explosive action that delivers a mini-movie each week. Working with HBO and Leftbank, weve really upped the ante this year with a truly ambitious, global plot that I hope our customers will relish. I am thrilled Robson, Martin and Dougray have joined the cast for a very special fourth series."
