On 21st December 1988, 259 passengers and crew were killed when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, 38 minutes after take-off.

A further 11 residents lost their lives as the plane came down over the quiet, Scottish town.

In the wake of the disaster and his daughter Flora’s death, Dr Jim Swire (Firth), is nominated spokesperson for the UK victims’ families, who have united to demand truth and justice.

Travelling across continents and political divides, Jim embarks on a relentless journey that not only jeopardises his stability, family and life, but completely overturns his trust in the justice system.

As the truth shifts under Jim’s feet, his view of the world is left forever changed.

Exploring events from the disaster and its aftermath, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth provides an intimate account of a man, a husband, and a father who risks everything in memory of his daughter and the unflinching pursuit of truth and justice.

The Staircase

In this dramatised version of a real true crime story, Firth plays Michael Peterson, an author who becomes central to a murder case when his wife, Kathleen, is found dead at the bottom of the family’s staircase.

As secrets to his private life come into public light, the Peterson family are put under strain as debate swells over whether Michael is responsible for Kathleen’s death or if it was truly an accident.

The case gains international attention when Jean-Xavier Lestrade, a French filmmaker, decides to pick up the case as a central story for a new documentary.

Multiple theories behind what happened come to light, each with their own plausible reasoning to complicate the matter further.

The Staircase dramatisation delves into each theory, depicting how Kathleen’s final hour of life could have played out.

Bridget Jones’ Diary Trilogy

A classic rom-com trilogy, Bridget Jones’ Diary follows the dating exploits of a thirty-something singleton Bridget Jones.

After being left alone at her mother’s annual Christmas turkey curry buffet, Bridget makes it her mission to find The One – and soon finds herself torn between Daniel Cleaver, her rakishly handsome womanising boss, and Mark Darcy, the prim-and-proper human rights lawyer who seems to catch her at her worst moments.

Inviting the three men who it could potentially be to Greece for the weekend, her mother, Donna, is left in shock as she’s forced to confront her past and finally provide some answers – all while the three men are oblivious to the real reason they’re there.

In Here We Go Again, the group are reunited with Sophie now pregnant with her first child, and they delve into Donna’s past and how she met the three key men in her life.

Firth plays Harry, the dashing and bashful potential father of Sophie – and he gets to show off his singing abilities as he does so.

Shakespeare In Love

William Shakespeare is given a modern makeover in this Oscar Award-winning film.

The story follows Shakespeare during his younger years, suffering writers’ block and quickly running out of money.

Dorian Gray

Based on Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, the story follows a beautiful young man in Victorian London as he is swept up into the underbelly of the city by the charming Lord Henry "Harry" Wotton (played by Firth).

However, when he agrees to sell his soul to stay young forever, his wish is granted – with a portrait taking the toll of his increasingly hedonistic lifestyle as Dorian’s impulsive and volatile behaviour leaves destruction in his wake.

But things take a turn when he meets a woman to fall in love with, making him question just how much his sacrifice was truly worth and if it’s too late to get back what he lost.

The Secret Garden

Conspiracy

Set in January 1942, shortly after the United States officially enter World War II, a group of Nazi government officials hold a conference in Wannsee, Germany to discuss the final phase of their plan to eradicate Jews and “undesirables”.

SS Gen. Heydrich and Lt. Eichmann lead the conference, and are both in favour of the “evacuation” of Jews – code for mass murder of Jewish people via concentration camps –  with the meeting merely to ensure all officials of government departments were on board with the plan.

But there are others present – including Chancellor Kritzinger – who oppose the idea.

Firth plays Dr Wilhelm Stuckart, State Secretary and Reich Ministry for the Interior, one of the men present at the meeting where the decision was made.
