Anthony Bourdain had no reservations about a move to CNN. Shortly after concluding an eight-season stint at the helm of his popular Travel Channel series, the equally popular Emmy-winning host came to the news network searching for `Parts Unknown'. In the hourlong weekend series - similar in premise to Travel's `No Reservations' - Bourdain explores the world to, he says, `eat and drink with people without fear and prejudice ... they open up to you in ways that somebody visiting who is driven by a story may not get'. Enticed by the opportunity to experience cultures rarely visited by American TV, such as in the Congo, Libya and Myanmar, the chef and best-selling author also takes viewers to Colombia, Peru, Morocco and, closer to home, Koreatown in Los Angeles.

Episode 1Singapore

Bourdain immerses himself in the rich heritage and array of multicultural foods found wandering the streets of this island city-state, and chats with local chef Damian D'Silva.

Episode 2French Alps

Bourdain and chef Eric Ripert embark on a ski trip through the French Alps, where they engage in some healthy rivalry and sample an overwhelming variety of cheeses.

Episode 3Lagos

Bourdain explores the madcap city of Lagos, experiences Nigeria's rich cultural diversity, and samples Egusi soup, stewed with goat meat, melon seeds, fish stock and chillies.

Episode 4Pittsburgh

Bourdain delves into the part-iconic steel city defined by working-class comfort food and part-foodie boom-town catering to the new high-tech industry.

Episode 5Sri Lanka

Bourdain visits a once-divided nation to experience the reinvigorated people, food and landscape. He samples crab curry, a dish he calls the 'holy grail of Sri Lankan cuisine'.

Episode 6Puerto Rico

Bourdain dives into the real Puerto Rico beyond the fancy resorts and insurmountable economic crisis, and discovers natural splendour, delicious food and warm people.

Episode 8Seattle

Bourdain immerses himself in the vibrant and tech-dominated city as he samples the legal weed and throws back succulent oysters at the Taylor Shellfish Company.

Episode 9Southern Italy: The Heel of the Boot

Bourdain visits the largely untouched landscapes Southern Italy and a culture steeped in Christian and Pagan traditions, and has a meal with director Francis Ford Coppola.
