Multiple cameras follow the forensics team at Northumbria Police as they work on serious crime investigations. The show highlights the importance of forensics in criminal cases and displays how advances in the field help to convict those individuals responsible for offences. Over the series, a number of different cases are followed, in which the CSIs use DNA from blood, digital forensics and other methods to uncover the truth. The work of the forensics team will give an in-depth look at the inside of murder and other serious crime cases.
