Set in the early 1950s, while Britain is still suffering through the aftermath of the Second World War, the local priest at St Mary's Catholic Church in fictional Cotswold village Kembleford often finds himself solving the town's biggest crimes. In addition to his typical parish duties, Father Brown uses his love and understanding of other people to ensure justice is served, and the right person held accountable (though in some circumstances, not always to the standard of the law). Assisted by the parish secretary and his own wit and sharp intellect, Father Brown works his way through a series of mishaps and intriguing clues to piece together the truth at every turn.

Father Brown tracks down a murderer who's using Kembleford's model village to plan their attacks, while also looking for a secretary after Mrs McCarthy's departure.

A celebrity florist brings a dash of glamour to Kembleford, but also gains Father Brown's interest after the suspicious death of an angry neighbour.

Father Brown's past collides with the present when he investigates a missing person, a murder and a mythical wild cat.

Episode 5The Hidden Man

Father Brown receives a visit from Chief Inspector Sullivan to inform him that Hercule Flambeau is on the run and wanted for a string of horrific killings.

Episode 6The Royal Visit

Princess Margaret's visit to Kembleford is jeopardised when a caretaker is killed, and Father Brown must resolve matters to keep the royal occasion from being cancelled.
