A festive edition of the laddish sitcom. We see a glimpse of Christmas as it might have been for Gary, Tony, Dorothy and Deborah.

Gary and Dermot worry about who will be moving into the newly-vacant flat above them, but their fears prove unfounded when it turns out to be an attractive blonde.

Dermot and Gary get serious over a chess contest where the victor gains an evening of pleasure.

Dermot offers his body and Gary fixes up a burglar alarm in forlorn efforts to impress Deborah.

Dorothy welcomes Gary's suggestion of an open relationship, while Dermot continues to woo Deborah.

Gary goes to the pub to drown his sorrows, so Dermot invites Deborah to their flat for a romantic evening of candlelight, dinner and music.

A moment of madness costs Dermot his job. Meanwhile, Gary is offered a new post, but has difficulty breaking the news to George and Anthea.
