What happens in And Just Like That...: Season 2, Episode 8 – ‘A Hundred Years Ago’?

Warning: Major spoilers ahead

Carrie and Aidan

With their romance officially back on track, Aidan proves his intentions to Carrie by saying he’d like her to meet his sons.

At lunch with the girls, Carrie fills them in on her time with Aidan but a concerned Miranda warns Carrie that things seem to be moving fast. But the rekindled relationship has left Carrie happier than ever… even wondering if being with Big was a “big mistake”.

She later visits Che, coming up with a deal to rent their apartment (as she Airbnb’s it anyway) while Aidan is visiting in exchange for letting Che stay at hers. Che happily obliges.

However, when Carrie and Aidan get there, they quickly play house, buying things to make it more their own – from pepper mills to salad tongs.

As things continue to grow between them, Aidan and Carrie head to Virginia so she can meet his family.

Charlotte

Charlotte tells her kids that she is starting a full-time job with Rock and Lily seemingly relaxed – perhaps even happy – about the prospect of their mum not being around as much.

But her insecurities soon kick in as she struggles with how to dress for her new job, not having worked for several years and no longer having the body she had in her 20s.

Miranda

Miranda begins her internship at Human Rights Watch but gets off on the wrong foot when boss Raina assigns her more responsibilities, overlooking the longer serving interns.

Despite her attempts to bond with them, she can sense her co-workers consider her a teachers’ pet.

So when Miranda is asked to cover for her boss whilst she’s off on maternity leave, she hesitates, feeling guilty for getting the role ahead of the other interns. But Raina shuts her down, saying she deserves the opportunity and is the most qualified, despite her short time at the company.

Anthony

Anthony’s HotFellas business is booming – but that’s mainly thanks to the hunky Giuseppe, with customers demanding he be the one to deliver their goods.

Later that evening, Giuseppe and Anthony echo the infamous Ghost pottery scene, with Giuseppe showing him how to knead bread properly. In the moment, he reveals to Anthony that he’s gay, but taken aback by this revelation and his growing feelings for his employee, Anthony fires him. However, he later changes his mind (partly in fear of creating an HR issue) and places him on probation instead.

When Anthony comes clean and admits to Giuseppe he can’t work side-by-side with a gorgeous, gay Italian whilst remaining professional, Giuseppe quits – because he wants to see how things can go between them romantically.

Seema

Seema is introduced to a studio exec, who is looking for a long-term rental in New York. Despite not ‘doing rentals’, Seema is enamoured by his good looks and charm so decides to take him on as a client.

When Carrie unexpectedly bumps into Seema at the salon, the pair discuss why she’s been avoiding her friend’s texts about dinner with Aidan, and Seema confesses that being around Carrie in love makes her realise that she herself has never had a true love – and might never get the chance.

She then asks Carrie for some space, leaving her friend standing in the pouring rain.

Feeling guilty, Seema later bucks up and decides to turn up to the girls’ dinner, where she finally gets to meet Aidan.
