What are the benefits for Sky TV customers?

If you already have Sky TV or join Sky TV then you get free Unlimited Calls and Texts with any of our data plans. If you already have a Sky+ box, then you can also sync Sky+ recordings with your phone to create your own personal playlist of shows you love to watch, wherever you are.

How do I get these benefits?

As long as you have Sky TV, you can benefit from free Unlimited Calls and Texts with every Sky Mobile plan. This means you and your family can call and text for free as often as you like. Just select the Unlimited Calls and Texts plan as you check out. If you have Sky+, to watch your personal playlist of shows on your phone, either stream shows over 4G when you're out, or download over Wi-Fi to watch later without using up your data.

How can I set up Sync on my phone?

Download the latest version of the Sky+ app and connect to your home Wi-Fi. Sync will automatically create your own playlist in the ‘Watch Now’ tab of your Sky+ app. Simply select the show you want to watch and it’ll stream to your phone.

How does it work?

How does Sky Mobile work?

Choose the phone you want and pick from Swap12 or Swap24.

Then, choose the data plan that suits your needs, then pick Unlimited Calls and Texts, or, if you prefer, Pay As You Use. You can change your mind at any time and any used data will automatically Roll into your Sky Piggybank to use whenever you like, for up to 3 years.

What is Swap?

Swap is available with any phone and on any data plan.

When you first choose your phone, you’ll be able to pick from: 

  • Swap12, which lets you Swap your phone for the latest model every year; or
  • Swap24 to get our lowest monthly price, and Swap for a new one every 2 years.

When it’s time to Swap, simply choose a brand new phone and we’ll deliver it to your door for free. Then simply send back your old phone.

How do I Swap?

1. We'll let you know when it’s time to Swap.

2. Go to sky.com/mobile to give us details about the Sky Mobile phone you want to Swap.

3. Choose your brand new phone, along with your new Swap plan, and we'll deliver it right to your door for free. 

4. And when you're all set up, send us your old phone back.

What will affect the amount Sky pays for my phone?

The condition of your phone, and its actual market value, may affect the price that we will pay you for it. 

What if I don't want to Swap?

If you prefer to hang on to your old phone, we'll adjust your monthly payments until your contract ends.

Can I change my Sky Mobile plan?

Yes. No matter which Sky Mobile plan you choose, you can change your Mix of data, calls and texts every month. Any downgrades will be effective from the following month.

What if I go over my data plan?

It’s easy to get more data any time you like by Mixing up your plan, adding data from your Sky Piggybank, or buying a 1GB Add On. 

What will Sky Mobile coverage be like?

4G comes as standard and you’ll also get unlimited Sky WiFi at thousands of hotspots in popular places across the country. You can check your predicted network coverage in your area using our Coverage Checker.

Can I use my phone abroad?

With Roaming Passport, you can now roam in more than 30 EU and EEA destinations at no extra cost. And with Roaming Passport Plus, you can use your UK data plan from abroad, in 10 of the most popular roaming destinations outside of the EU.

While you're in the EU/EEA:

  • Any data used will come out of your UK data plan.
  • If you have Unlimited Calls and Texts, standard calls or texts to the UK or other EU destinations are inclusive.
  • If you Pay As You Use, calls to the UK, or other EU destinations are 10p a minute. Texts are 10p to send and free to receive.

Outside of the EU:

  • Any data you use will be charged just £5 for 24 hours and will come out of your UK data plan. Roaming Passport Plus lasts for 24 hours and you'll only be charged for each 24-hour period you use.
  • Calls and texts will be charged at out-of-bundle rates.
  • Destinations outside of the EU include: Turkey, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South Africa, Thailand, USA and Qatar.

If you need more data while you're away you’ll still be able to use data from your Sky Piggybank whenever you need it, and can mix up your plan at My Sky.

If you travel abroad and have roaming activated, you won’t need to contact us or do anything. Alternatively, you can simply turn data roaming off in your phone settings if you don’t want to use it.

What if I need to call abroad from the UK?

All Sky Mobile customers can make calls and send texts to international numbers. You can find out about international charges in our tariff guide. After you’ve joined Sky Mobile, you can add our International Saver to your plan and enjoy discounted rates on calls and texts to over 60 destinations.

How do I get it?

Can I get a phone with Sky Mobile?

When you choose a plan, you’ll be able to add a phone with Swap – a radically new way to have the phone you want, when you want. See our Sky Mobile features to find out more.

Can I keep my existing mobile number?

Yes. If you’d like to keep your existing number, just have your PAC to hand (which you can get from your old provider). You’ll need to activate your Sky Mobile SIM before transferring your number. See our help guide for more information.

Can I keep my existing phone?

Yes. To use your Sky Mobile SIM in a phone bought from a different service provider, you may need to contact them first to unlock your phone.

Do I need a Sky iD?

Yes. Sky iD is your sign-in for all our online services. You'll need a Sky iD to activate your SIM when it arrives and to manage your account online. If you're already a Sky TV customer with a Sky+ box, use your existing Sky iD to benefit from Sync.

How do I get the right size SIM?

Your SIM comes in three different sizes – nano, micro and standard. The size you’ll need will depend on your phone. If you’re not sure, check your phone’s user guide. Then pop out the right size SIM for your phone.

Will a new account be set up if I already have Sky?

When you log into My Sky, you’ll see all your Sky products in one place. However, you’ll be billed separately for Sky Mobile.

What if I'm not eligible to buy a Sky Mobile phone?

If you're not eligible to buy a Sky Mobile phone with a credit agreement, Sky credit builder may help. Sky credit builder lets you build up a payment history with Sky Mobile over six months, and this is taken into consideration if you re-apply to buy a phone with a credit agreement.
