Problems Accessing Sky Yahoo Mail

If you’re having problems viewing or accessing your Sky Yahoo Mail, try the steps below to fix the problem.

  • 1. Check service status

    Check service status for any general issues. You’ll need to sign in with your Sky iD.

  • 2. Check date and time settings

    If there’s no service issues, check that the time and date settings on your computer are correct:

    Windows XP, Vista and 7: Right click the time at the bottom right of the screen and select Adjust date and time.

    Windows 8: Hover over the top right hand side of the screen and select Search. Select Settings and type “Date and Time” in the search bar to find the Date and Time App.

    Mac OSX: Select the time on the right hand corner and select date & time preferences.

  • 3. Check your web browser and enable JavaScript

    Check that your web browser is compatible with Sky Yahoo Mail and that JavaScript is enabled.

    We always recommend downloading the latest version of your browser from www.whatbrowser.org even if your current version is compatible.

    Please note: Sky Yahoo Mail no longer supports Internet Explorer, so it is not included below.

    Google Chrome

    1. Open Google Chrome and select the menu button in the top right corner of the screen.
    2. Select Help.
    3. Select About Google Chrome. The version number will be displayed.
    4. Google Chrome version 25 and above is compatible.

    To enable Javascript:

    1. In Google Chrome, select the menu button in the top right corner of the screen
    2. Select Settings, then Show advanced settings.
    3. In the Privacy section, select Content settings.
    4. Under the JavaScript section, make sure Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) is selected.
    5. Select OK, then Refresh the page.

    Mozilla Firefox

    1. Open Mozilla Firefox and select the Menu button in the top right corner of the screen.
    2. Select the question mark help icon on the bottom right.
    3. Select About Firefox. The version number will be displayed under the Firefox heading.
    4. Mozilla Firefox version 19 and above is compatible.

    To enable JavaScript:

    1. In Mozilla Firefox go to the Firefox menu in the top left corner and select Options.
    2. Select the Content tab.
    3. Mark the Enable JavaScript tick box.
    4. Select OK to close and Refresh the page.

    Please note: In Firefox 23, JavaScript is enabled automatically and the above steps are no longer necessary.

    Safari

    1. Open Safari and select the Safari menu.
    2. Select About Safari. The version number will be displayed.
    3. Safari version 6.0 and above is compatible.

    To enable JavaScript:

    1. In Safari select Preferences from the Safari menu.
    2. Select Security.
    3. Check Enable JavaScript in the Web Content section.

    Please note: You must have cookies enabled to use Sky Yahoo Mail regardless of which browser you are using. 

  • 4. Sign in with your Sky iD

    If you've tried the steps above, sign in to My Sky and select Email from the top menu on Sky.com.

    If your Sky Yahoo Mail inbox doesn't display, please try the next step.

  • 5. Switch to basic Sky Yahoo Mail

    If Sky Yahoo Mail isn’t loading, try switching from its full-feature version to its basic version. Although this doesn’t have all of Sky Yahoo Mail’s features you’ll still be able to view emails.

    1. Sign in to Sky Yahoo Mail.
    2. Hover over the gear icon in the upper right corner of the window and select Settings.
    3. Select Viewing email on the left-hand menu.
    4. Next to Mail version, select Basic.
    5. Select Save. Sky Yahoo Mail will automatically refresh and load the basic version.

    To return to the full version, follow these steps but choose Full featured instead of Basic.
