Diane seeks revenge on Rodney for portraying her as dull in his book. Viv continues to worry about her court appearance, and Pearl considers entering the quilt-making competition.

Rodney decides to throw his book away - but Nicola has other ideas. Viv asks for a mock trial to prepare her for the real thing, and Pearl and Edna continue to argue.

Nicola tries to convince Rodney to write more stories, while David is furious to discover his girlfriend has received an advance from the publisher. Viv decides to leave.

Donna thinks she has spotted Freddie on CCTV footage and arranges a stakeout with Ross to catch him. Nicola is delighted to learn Rodney has finished another story.

After a night on guard outside Freddie's house, Donna is torn when she realises her mum's court case will be starting shortly. Pearl is shocked to be caught red handed.

Bob begs Viv to keep fighting her case when she tells him she is going to change her plea in court. Paul and Nicola accidentally use Diane's clothes to make their quilt.

Nicola and Paul replace the clothes they used in the quilt and luckily Diane sees the funny side - but a text from Jonny halts the merriment.
