The White Lotus: Season 2 Reviews Hero Image

The White Lotus was only ever meant to be a one-off season – but proved to be such a hit an expansion on the world of these five-star resorts was too much to resist.

Moving the scandalous world from Hawaii to the luxury of Sicily, Italy did little to soften the drama, if anything they ramped things up to 11 under the bake of the Mediterranean sun.

Still deliciously skewering of the one-percenters who visit the hallowed halls of the hotel, critics gave the series a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Here’s just a bit of what they had to say if you’re thinking of checking in and checking The White Lotus out…

Empire Magazine says:

The White Lotus's second run is a surprisingly profound story, one that speaks to our time. It doesn’t shy away from the most unlikeable traits of its complex characters – many of whom are willing to ruin the planet to accrue and protect their wealth, but still haven’t quite seemed to realise that money doesn’t make them happy. The Independent says:

Put simply, there is nothing more enjoyable to watch on television right now than The White Lotus. Whip-smart, sexy and with an artistic sentiment as relentlessly focused on audience gratification as the lowest-denominator reality TV: this is as moreish, and mouth-watering, as a big bowl of spaghetti alle vongole. Grazie (prego). Full review here >

Variety says:

The White Lotus remains one of TV’s most purely visceral, evocative shows as it digs each of its guests up by their roots, and leave it to the rest of the season to reveal what lies beneath. Full review here >

The Guardian says:

The White Lotus is set for as rich, complex and satisfying a comedy-drama as you could hope. Enjoy another five-star stay in this luxury place. Full review here >

One thing that’s not in doubt: The White Lotus is still laugh-out-loud funny. Full review here >

Evening Standard says:

As our obsession with shows about the ultra-rich, in inaccessible locations, being incredibly, well, lame (The Crown, Succession), continues, The White Lotus stands out.

As funny as ever, if slightly seedier, the second series is a brilliant rumination on desire and its destructive capability.Full review here >

CNN says:

White has accomplished one of the most daunting feats in Hollywood: Conjuring a follow-up to a rightly admired project with no clear blueprint how to do so, and barring a complete collapse at checkout time, delivering another five-star TV experience. Full review here >

The Times says:

I love Tanya. She embodies the show’s essence: that being filthy rich doesn’t make you happy. Indeed, it can make you wretchedly miserable. Enjoy the schadenfreude. Full review here >
