The White Lotus: Season 1 Locations Hero Image

The White Lotus promises five-star luxury no matter where in the world you may be - if you just ignore the dead bodies nearby.

While the guests’ lives may be falling apart, at least they can have their emotional breakdowns against the beautiful landscapes, cry into their duck-feather pillows on their king size beds, and hide their tears behind Armani sunglasses.

Season one set the bar high for decadent locations – with a Hawaii setting that boasted picturesque views, white sandy beaches… and an unintentional amount of family chaos for everyone staying at the resort.

Luckily, The White Lotus locations are all real - and the hotels exist too, albeit under different names. Season one, set in Maui, saw the camera crew take over an entire hotel in order to bring the show to life.

So, if you want to relive the Emmy Award-winning show for yourself, here’s where you can check in - and some other places you should check out.

The Hotel

Location: Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

If you want to recreate The White Lotus for yourself, the Four Seasons Resort Maui comes complete with an adults-only infinity pool and an open beachfront over Wailea Beach.

There’s also four separate restaurants, and the opportunity to sample Hawaiian culture with specially-curated experiences, most of which are complementary with the stay.

So if you’ve ever wanted to give hula dancing or torch-lighting a shot, this is the place to go.

For those who buy premium rooms, you also have access to the club lounge, which serves food and provides entertainment throughout the day.

Unfortunately, the highly sought-after Pineapple Suite does not exist - with the team redecorating the Lokelani Presidential Suite in order to bring it to life.

You can understand why Pete wanted it so badly though – as the presidential suites come with their own staff, concierge, a team of personal assistants, complimentary airport travel and even complimentary hydration IVs.

Amenities for the suite includes three bedrooms - two king beds in two rooms, and two queen beds in one room, and all with their own private bathroom; a 2,700sq.ft. furnished outdoor living space, and a 1,900sq.ft garden.

It’ll cost you though, with the Lokelani room costing over £27,000 a night.

Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) stayed in the Hibiscus Suite - aka the Oceanfront Prime Suite - which costs £9,923 a night.

The most simple room in the hotel, a Mountain-Side room, costs £1,033 a night.

Why was there only one location in season one?

When the world shut down in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, The White Lotus team struck a deal with the hotel as a way to work.

In order to create as safe a pandemic “bubble” as possible, Mike White and the team hired the entire five-star resort while it was shut down.

The entire cast and crew then moved in, allowing them to quarantine, live and work on the site without outside influence, massively reducing exposure and minimising impact on the show’s production.

The catch was that anyone on-site was not allowed to leave the vicinity of the Four Seasons resort – but as it’s massive, and right on the beach front, it doesn’t seem like that much of a catch.

The White Lotus available now on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
