The Ones Who Live is the long-awaited spin-off focused on the main series’ beloved main characters, Rick Grimes and Michonne.

With the world seemingly against them, the pair have been apart for almost a decade – but what happens when they finally make their way back to each other?

In this six-episode series (which was originally intended to be a movie trilogy), The Ones Who Live delves into where the characters have been, and where they can go in the future.

Here are the main characters who are central to the conclusion of this love story that overcomes even the apocalypse.

Played By: Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, Afterlife)

The original leading man of The Walking Dead, Rick has been missing in action ever since he was taken away injured via helicopter during season nine of the show’s main run.

Now living in a compound run by the Civic Republic Military (CRM), Rick will do whatever it takes to reunite with Michonne and his family.

A leader by nature, Rick’s defiance of the strict military regime splits those in charge.

Played By: Danai Gurira (Black Panther, All Eyez on Me)

After years of believing Rick had died, Michonne is now on a mission to find Rick and free him from wherever he may be.

Feisty and headstrong, Michonne has become legendary for her sword skills when in a fight, with a katana being her weapon of choice.

Played By: Pollyanna McIntosh (Vikings: Valhalla, Filth)

A warrant officer of the CRM, Jadis was who rescued Rick in The Walking Dead.

Before becoming a warrant officer, Jadis/Anne had a long-standing affiliation with the CRM, trading humans in the main series in exchange for supplies.

She was the former leader of the Scavengers. Jadis uses her cool exterior to be cutthroat for her own means. She can often be coldhearted and cruel in the name of what she considers the greater good.

Played By: Terry O'Quinn (Lost, Resident Alien)

Beale is the major general of the Civic Republic Military and the commander of the Frontliners.

A military man through-and-through, Beale served in Vietnam prior to the apocalyptic outbreak. He now has unmatched power within the CRM and has killed thousands in his career, wiping out entire communities in his past.

He is someone who believes his way is the correct one, and isn’t afraid to wipe out anyone who doesn’t agree.

Played By: Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer, Spartacus)

Pearl is a headstrong survivor, and initially opposed the CRM regime of which she’s been thrust into, but now accepts it and is part of it.

However, over time she has learned to accept it and even begins to climb the ranks, believing that’s her only means of survival.
