Award-winning comedy sketch show `Goodness Gracious Me' stars Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kulvinder Ghir, Meera Syal and Nina Wadia. The series follows various characters based on stereotypes in the British and Asian communities. Using ideas from the actors' own backgrounds and recognisable attributes in the wider demographic, these comic characters were born. The sketches include a man who claims everything - from Cliff Richard to Superman - comes from India; two competitive mothers who are forever boasting about their sons' accomplishments; and social climbers the Kapoors (or the `Coopers', as they prefer to be called), who deny their ethnic background and claim to be entirely English.
