Whether it's a Jack the Ripper copycat committing horrific murders in the Whitechapel district of London, or gruesome crimes in the East End prompting a look back at 300 years of history, it's up to the investigative team led by Detective Inspector Joseph Chandler, Detective Sergeant Ray Miles and jack-of-all-trades historical adviser Edward Buchan to decipher the nightmares of the past to help solve the horrors of the present. Summoning ghosts, however, can be a tricky proposition, especially when it leads Chandler, Miles and Buchan to places darker still.

DI Joseph Chandler and DS Ray Miles investigate the deaths of four people who were slaughtered at a tailor's fortified workshop in a gruesome and seemingly impossible crime.

Episode 2Whitechapel

The case takes on an almost supernatural edge when a second mass murder occurs, with no obvious signs of a break-in and no forensics left at the scene.

Episode 3Whitechapel

A fox runs through Whitechapel with a human arm in its mouth, but Chandler and the team struggle to identify the murder victim.

Episode 4Whitechapel

Another torso is washed up from the Thames, this time at Putney Bridge, and Llewellyn finds traces of Spanish Fly, an aphrodisiac used by the Marquis de Sade.

Episode 5Whitechapel

A patient escapes from a psychiatric unit around the time a murder is committed, and Chandler's quest to bring in a suspect jeopardises his relationship with Miles.

Episode 6Whitechapel

With the body count rising, Miles and Chandler struggle to put aside their differences in the face of their toughest adversary to date.
