In this three-part documentary Neil Oliver, Chris Packham, Andy Torbet and Dr Shini Somara are in Orkney taking part in one of Europe's largest archaeological digs. Hundreds of archaeologists are travelling far and wide to join the project at the remote site based seven miles off the coast of Scotland. Despite appearing to be a road less travelled, discoveries suggest that the area was a cultural capital in the ancient world, with theories that Stonehenge's stone circle cult originated here. Packham examines the DNA of the land's distinctive wildlife, while Oliver uncovers the history behind Orkney's tombs and monuments.
