This unusual crime drama follows Detective Inspector Henry Crabbe, whose retirement plans include opening a restaurant named Pie in the Sky. After 25 years on the force, Crabbe is well-known for being highly skilled in solving cases and catching criminals red-handed. Therefore Assistant Chief Constable Freddy Fisher isn't too keen to lose his best detective to pastry and gravy, so he tries his best to keep Crabbe on juicy cases. The DI finds a way to keep up with both of his passions, serving up favourite dishes with justice on the side.
