A documentary series exploring the beauty and history of iconic rivers throughout England. Famous faces including Shobna Gulati, JB Gill, Miranda Krestovnikoff and Stuart Maconie set out on river walks, looking at the River Tees, the Nidd, the River Severn, the Exe, the River Deben, the River Lea, the Itchen, the Dart, the Dove, the Soar, the Trent, and the Stour. Along the way, they discover picturesque towns, fascinating local history and personalities, interesting activities, and delicious local produce and dishes.

Episode 1The Nidd

Blind adventurer Amar Latif takes us along one of Yorkshire's most stunning river valleys as he abseils into a hidden gorge and meets some local llamas.

Episode 2River Tees

Kirsten O'Brien takes a 15-mile walk along the River Tees near Barnard Castle and explores the history of Upper Teesdale.

Episode 3River Lea

Sean Fletcher puts on his hiking boots to walk the eight-mile route along the River Lea, take in the landmarks of an industrial past, and discover what its future holds.

Episode 4River Deben

Miranda Krestovnikoff walks along the salt marshes, tidal lagoons and wooded groves of the River Deben in Suffolk as she travels from Sutton Hoo to Ramsholt Quay.

Episode 5The Exe

Father and daughter Stanley and Rachel Johnson - who both grew up in the Exe valley - walk the first 12 miles of this beautiful river from Exmoor to Winsford.
