Follows the BBC's competition to find new comedy talent from across the United Kingdom. Over a number of rounds, comedians compete to show they could be the next breakout comedy star. In the process, they hope to follow in the footsteps of former winners including Julian Barratt, Nina Conti, Rhod Gilbert and Lucy Beaumont. However, in order to have any chance of being successful they will have to ensure that they are at the top of their game and are ready with an original routine that will leave the judges suitably impressed.

Episode 1Midlands Heat: Leicester

Five comedians perform to go through to the grand final of the BBC New Comedy Awards. Contains adult humour.

Episode 2Wales and West: Pontypridd

The second heat comes from Pontypridd in the heart of the south Wales valleys. Contains strong language.

Episode 4Northern Irish Heat: Belfast

Five hopefuls in Belfast battle it out to book their place in the grand final. Contains strong language.

Episode 6Northern Heat: Lancaster

The search for Britain’s best new comic reaches Lancaster. Contains some strong language.

Episode 7The Final

Six finalists take to the stage in their bid to be crowned BBC New Comedian 2024. Contains some strong language.
