This long-running animated comedy focuses on the eponymous family in the town of Springfield in an unnamed U.S. state. The head of the Simpson family, Homer, is not a typical family man. A nuclear-plant employee, he does his best to lead his family but often finds that they are leading him. The family includes loving, blue-haired matriarch Marge, troublemaking son Bart, overachieving daughter Lisa and baby Maggie. Other Springfield residents include the family's religious neighbour, Ned Flanders, family physician Dr Hibbert, Moe the bartender and police chief Clancy Wiggum.

Bart finds new respect for the law and Lisa hangs out with the wrong crowd after they both take career aptitude tests. (S3, ep 18)

Tired of living her life without a man, Selma gets a prison pen pal. When he is released from jail, she invites him to the Simpsons' home. With Kelsey Grammer. (S3, ep 21)

Episode 22The Otto Show

Bart and Milhouse go to a Spinal Tap concert and when they return, Bart has decided he wants to be a heavy metal rocker. Featuring the guest voices of Spinal Tap. (S3, ep 22)

Episode 23Bart's Friend Falls in Love

Milhouse falls in love with Samantha, a new girl at school, and casts his friendship with Bart aside. (S3, ep 23)
