Following on from the earlier series `Trawlermen', documentary series `Trawlermen: Hunting the Catch' follows fishermen around the clock as they embark on deep-sea fishing trips. From Shetland to Cornwall, and from the North Sea to the English Channel, cameras follow fisherman as they traverse 300,000 square miles of ocean. Each episode follows a different British fishing boat over the course of a single week as they battle the elements and hunt for a catch that will pay off for the skipper and the crew.

Episode 1The Rookie

The Ocean Pride targets shipwrecks off of Cornwall in pursuit of pollack, and the Margaret of Ladram hunts for lucrative Dover sole in the English Channel.

Episode 2The Price Crash

Siwrengale skipper Darren Warters and his sons are out in the North Sea for the whelk season, and the Endeavour 5 is in the North Atlantic in search of squid.

Episode 3The Million Pound Catch

The crew of Golden Promise face Force 6 winds in search of scallops off Wales.

Episode 4The Race

The crew of Karen of Ladram hunts hake off of Cornwall, a rookie crew works in the Irish Sea, and trainee skipper Michael steps up in a storm.

Episode 5The Gamble

Adam leaves his home waters in search of Dover sole hoping to cover his ever-growing expenses, and Stephen breaks from the fleet towards stormy weather in Scotland.

Episode 6The Storm

Storm Arwen hits the UK and the skippers have tough decisions to make as George Jack considers venturing into the squall in search of a new species of prawn.
