Members of Cat's old band reunite to record an album at a retreat not far from Wildermarsh - and it's not long before one of them turns up dead.

Mattie investigates another murder involving the band when someone is stabbed with a knife, and it appears an incident from the past may be the key.

Mattie searches for new clues about her missing mother, but an onstage murder in a production of Jane's book brings her to the theatre.

Despite Mattie's objections, Beth and Cat continue to pursue leads on their own, while the theatre company is forced to change the cast around.
