In this BAFTA-nominated sitcom, Marcus and Stylax, played by Tom Rosenthal and Joel Fry, desperate young men from the suburbs, try to get laid, hold down jobs and climb the social ladder while living in the big city. It seems like a normal problem that people face in everyday life but they're in an unusual situation because the city they're living in is ancient Rome. The guys are from modern times but they live in ancient times as plebs, a non-aristocratic class of workers. In addition to dealing with their lazy slave with an attitude problem, Grumio, the guys have a ruthless boss, Flavia, who is an expert manipulator with a private life that's the stuff of legend.
