Was Nikola Tesla, often referred to as the Man Who Invented the 20th Century, also responsible for conceiving one of the first weapons of mass destruction? Technological breakthroughs like the radio, cellphone and alternating current electricity can find roots in Tesla's many inventions. But recently declassified documents reveal new information about a weapon Tesla created called the `death ray' and show that superpowers, including the U.S. and Soviet Union, were intrigued by it. This documentary series investigates Tesla's inventions, focusing on the death ray, and his research that may have gone missing after his death in 1943. Military investigator Jack Murphy, Tesla historian Cameron Prince and engineer Aron Koscho lead a team searching for answers. The series also features the team building and test-firing a prototype of the death ray.
