The detectives that are part of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit investigate crimes of sexual nature. While the focus of the other shows in the `Law & Order' franchise largely deal with murder cases, the SVU detectives frequently deal with crimes, such as rapes, in which the victim survives and assists authorities in the investigation. The series features a cast of veteran actors, including Mariska Hargitay, Richard Belzer, Dann Florek and, after the first season, rapper Ice-T. Occasional crossover episodes feature detectives from other series in the `Law & Order' franchise.

A woman belonging to a women's empowerment group is found murdered. The SVU suspects the group's male leader. (S20 Ep 5)

Episode 6Exile

Crime drama series. A victim fails to recollect details about her assault. Carisi's investigation is prematurely halted when she disappears. (S20 Ep 6)

Crime drama series. The SVU has to solve an unthinkable crime whan an entire family is murdered while sleeping. (S20 Ep 7)

Episode 11Plastic

A young woman accuses a celebrity plastic surgeon and his girlfriend of sexual assault. Benson and the team must decide if she was attacked, or if a sex game went awry. (S20 Ep 11)

Episode 12Dear Ben

After two decades of silence, a serial rapist strikes again. SVU is determined to learn the identity of the elusive criminal and bring justice to his multiple victims. (S20 Ep 12)
