Switching to Sky Broadband
The Sky Switch Squad will make sure switching from your current provider is simple and goes smoothly.
If you need an engineer to install a Sky phone line, we’ll book one for you or if you already have a line, we’ll switch it over remotely. The wait time for your line installation will depend on the availability of engineer appointments. Find more information about your appointment in Track my order by signing in with your Sky iD.
If you’re joining from BT (excluding Fibre to the Premises), EE, TalkTalk or Plusnet, Sky will handle the switch over and you won’t need to cancel with your current provider.
If you're switching from Virgin Media cable, BT Ultrafast Fibre or Fibre to the Premises from another provider, you’ll need to cancel your services directly with them. To help avoid loss of service, it’s best to tell your existing provider your confirmed Sky activation date so they can cancel your service as close to your new Sky activation date as possible. Information about how to change your Sky activation date can be found in our help article.
You can keep your phone number, re-direct your emails and bring across your email contacts.*
* We aim to keep your current phone number if requested when placing your order, but if it’s not possible we’ll let you know. Emails can be re-directed from accounts supporting POP access. Check with your current provider to find out if you can keep your existing email account.
