How to enable WiFi Hotspots for non-Sky Broadband lines

Whether you have broadband from Sky or not, you can use your Sky Q mini boxes as WiFi hotspots. If you have your broadband from Sky, this is automatically set up. If you don’t have your broadband from Sky, you will need to turn this feature on. This will boost your WiFi coverage in your home and will enable your devices such as tablets and smart phones to connect to your WiFi if you have areas in your home where WiFi coverage might not be as good.

There are a few checks first to see if your Sky Q box and router/hub is compatible, such as WPA2 security, but don’t worry, your Sky Q box will tell you this when you activate the feature, should you see the error message, you will need to contact your broadband provider for further support.

Your WiFi performance may vary on your device location and the products or features by your broadband provider. Some of these features may not work once you turn on this setting, again check with your broadband provider for more information.
