How do you turn data roaming on and off?

Switching data roaming on or off only takes a few seconds, and it’s one of the easiest things to sort before you travel.

iPhone



On iPhone, follow the steps below: 

1. Go to Settings  
2. Then Mobile Data 
3. Then Data Roaming
4. Toggle it on or off

Android


On Android, follow the steps below:  

1. Go to Settings
2. Then Connections 
3. Then Mobile Networks 
4. Then Data Roaming 
5. Toggle it on or off  





 



Should I turn data roaming on or off before travelling?

It will depend on how you want to use your phone abroad. If you want to use mobile data for maps, messaging or browsing, you’ll need to turn on data roaming.

If you want to avoid any charges, it’s safer to leave data roaming turned off and use public Wi-Fi instead
